The Omnico Theme Park Barometer 1

The Theme Park Barometer questioned visitors’ experiences of attending resorts in the previous two years in the US, UK and China, asking their opinions on the types of experiences and technologies they have encountered now, and what they would like to see in the future.

The following percentages reveal the overall guest experiences chosen by global visitors today:

  • 89%Pre-book entire trip

  • 85%Choose a limited number of specific deals relevant to the visitor

  • 82%Ability to buy anything in the resort using a cashless device

  • 82%Order a table in a restaurant ahead of when required and be greeted pesonally on arrival

No longer do guests want to queue for rides, wait for a table and food to be ordered, pay for merchandise with cash, or book experiences whilst already at the resort.

The report, launched in November 2016, found that overall visitors want to receive a single, integrated and digital resort experience, particularly with the ability to pre-book their trip, and during their visit be able to purchase and order anything using cashless devices.
